This is my first read by this author and at just 73 pages long, the novella flowed well. It is erotica, turned teacher-student romance, turned tiki-tribal Native American rituals. To be able to read this book, you need to switch off reality and switch on fantasy. This book has a unique storyline, which is out of my normal comfort zone, though a quick and easy read. It was a journey into the imagination and it took me on a peculiar journey through the authors psyche. But rest assured, dont be put off, as this unique and unusual tale will take you on a rollercoaster of sexual fantasy.
After suffering a miscarriage, Shanna and David's relationship is strained. Upon deciding to move out, Shanna meets Kenny, a Native American-Indian tribal man, who gifts her with a 'Kachina' doll. Kenny leaves town to go on his vision quest and to find out what he believes in. Will he come back for Shanna? Or will she be left single, living at home with her family? I felt a little lost at the beginning of the story and wanted to know why Shanna was so scared of David. I definitely wanted a bit of back story at the beginning of the book. The book was very descriptive, but I felt that at times, strange expressions were used. I also felt slightly overwhelmed with the amount of adjectives used in the writing. In relation to the storyline, I really found it hard to comprehend sexual encounters being caused by a 'Kachina' doll and not actually occurring in real life. Similarly, some of the visions and phallic references were peculiar. However, the enchanted penis really rocked the boat for me.
As this type of erotica is not normally my chosen genre, I couldn't relate to the story as much as I would've liked to, especially in the supernatural, tribal aspect. I think the storyline has potential for development and can definitely see where it's heading toward. Personally, it wasn't my cup of tea and not to my taste. I felt that we jumped straight in there to the nitty gritty and I would've liked a but more story line surrounding the erotica. I felt that the writing style was disjointed in parts, sometimes having several short sentences in a paragraph and other times having a paragraph as a sentence.
Overall, if erotica and supernatural, tribal themes is your thing, then I'm sure you will really enjoy this book! Go and grab a copy today and indulge yourself in this short and snappy read.
