Written by Lynn Raye Harris this is Max's story and is the 5th book in the series following the brannigan brothers who have each been left bequests by their billionaire father after his passing.

For ex-military man turned mercenary Max his fathers bequest of a struggling house farm gives him the opportunity to get out and run teams of his very own. The only complication in order to sell the farm he needs the current occupants agreement to do so. Headstrong Ellie Applegate is struggling to make things work, left a mountain of debt when her mother passed away, she's begun the hard task of getting the farm back to profit. I don't want to say anymore about this book without giving away spoilers but wow oh wow did the author knock this out of the park. I couldn't wait to get stuck into this second instalment and definitely had a few late nights after not being able to put it down. The story is fast paced and even hotter than the first, if that's at all possible. We even get some new hot characters to drool over as well. The story ends on a slight cliff hanger but it's the perfect end to make me desperate for book 3. Please don't keep me waiting too long Claire?!

Their texts had carried on all through the day, alternating between spicy, sweet, and mundane. Waiting for her phone to ping with his incoming text added a new excitement to her life. Multiple times, she’d gotten distracted in class and stuttered when he’d written her a dirty text (which she was learning he was really good at) and embarrassed herself.

I love the plot for this book.  When I read the blurb the book just had to be mine. However as I turned the pages I never expected to get 2 plots for the price of 1! It's not just the story of the Curvy girl who gets discovered in her local store, it's about the father of the screenwriter who discovers her to. These plots are told simultaneously throughout the book with the 4 main characters each having chapters of their own.

College professor Bella just wants to get her groceries meet the man of her dreams and fall in love! That's not to much for a girl to ask for is it? Film producer/screenwriter/director Jamie just needs to find a new leading lady to save his pilot sitcom. One bump in the grocery isle and both their dreams may come true apart but not necessarily how they want them too. With the pair butting heads over the others disregard for their plans, this book was very entertaining and numerous throughout. Reading Jamie's fall from lust to love with Bella. His growing from Tinder hookup king to someone who wants more than a quick or easy bang and realising that Bella is the one he wants more with.

With the book chronicling Bellas own acceptance that a relationship isn't the only thing worth having in life I wasn't sure whether she and Jamie would have their happy ending. However never fear true love wins out over all obstacles in its path 4 stars.

I love sports romance FACT! but with American Football and Ice Hockey sub genre seemingly more popular with the majority of authors these have tended to be the core of the sports romances I have read.  Having only come across a few books with baseball at the heart when I find a book about baseball players I have to read them. Having not read a Kate Stewart book previously I was unsure of exactly what to expect from Major Love but the title page and the phrase 'a sports romance with a few giggles' for me set the bar high. Humour in romantic fiction can be hard to balance but Major love had it just right.

Emergency services dispatcher April is coming to terms with the end of her long term relationship. Work, supporting her family, and helping her friend April plan the wedding of the century all helping her to overcome her relationship failure. When fate in the form of Aprils wedding puts her on a collision course with Andy the grooms best man the sparks begin to fly but with Andy heading off to coach in the minor leagues their fling isn't meant to last surely?  Forget giggles this book had me in stitches, Aprils relationship with her sisters and their children had me alternating between crying with laughter and crying at the things the family had experienced. Andy was just the right mix of cocky jock and sweetheart, he and best friend Rafe were the perfect sports guy fun and alpha in all the best ways. 4.5stars

Cade stood on my front porch looking good enough to eat. He’d shaved, and his irregular features were even sexier now than when they’d been surrounded by stubble. The scar was more pronounced, too.
Dressed in a white button-down, he’d rolled up the sleeves, showing off his tanned forearms. Leaning one hand against the doorpost, he crossed his long legs at the ankle.
My gaze slipped over him, taking in his jeans, worn and faded in the right places. My eyes may have lingered on the bulge at his fly for the briefest second. His scuffed, black cowboy boots had seen better days.
He looked perfect.
“We need to talk,” he said, moving past me.
“Let’s talk in the car.” He didn’t respond, so with an eye roll, I swung the door closed and turned around.
Before he could bank it, I saw the heat in his gaze. He’d been checking out my backside. Mission sit-up-and-pant: accomplished.
“I’ve changed my mind,” he said. “You’re not going.”
“Au contraire, I am going.”
He squinted. Fine lines framed the outer corners of his eyes. “The only reason you’re alive, Null, is because you don’t present a threat to Others. The minute that changes, you’re dead.”
“I’ve been dealing with Others for a long time, Cade. I keep telling you, I can handle myself. Now, did you find any information about the shifter London was dating? Or that vampire, James Sharpe?”
“Did you hear me?”
“Yeah, yeah, dead null.”
He twitched his lips, baring clenched white teeth. If we were animals, that look would have sent me packing in the other direction. But I was all human, baby, and I wasn’t budging.
“Also, I need to take a look at London’s file.” I wanted to see pics of what he’d found in her house. Surely it hadn’t always been as sterile as the day I snooped through it.
“Forget it. That’s evidence.”
Of course, precious rule number one. “I’ll barely look at it. You can even turn the pages so I won’t sully it with my little null fingers.”
“No.”
McAllister was a stickler for his details and rules. He wouldn’t let me touch the original, but… “Didn’t you at least make copies? That’s not evidence. Technically speaking.”
He closed his eyes for a second and sighed. “Fine,” he ground out. “If it shuts you up, you can look at a copy.”
That was almost too easy. Still, there was a hint of smugness in my grin. “See, that wasn’t so hard, now was it?”
He took a step toward me, narrowing the space between us. Heat rolled off him, and his delicious smell, mixed with the fresh scent of laundry soap, teased my nose. “Do you really want to play games with me, Little Null?”
I could think of a couple that might be fun. Instead I said, “I could easily kick your ass at Twister. I’m very limber.”
In the dim entryway, most of his face was cast in shadows. But those eyes. They glimmered greener than normal and were full of strong emotions. Anger. Irritation. Sexual frustration. Maybe a dangerous combination of all three? “You want to fuck with me, I’ll fuck right back. But I don’t recommend it.”
His words conjured up images of him moving on top of me, sliding inside me. I felt a little lightheaded from the thought. Clearing my throat, I placed my hands on my hips. The tips of my breasts brushed his shirt, making my nipples hard. His prolonged gaze at my chest told me he noticed. I couldn’t allow myself to get distracted this way. I had a job to do, a reward to collect. Screwing the sorcerer didn’t play into it.
“What I want is a look at your file and a trip to The Raven,” I said. “Since I’m the one who brought all this information to the table, the very least you can do is provide protection.”
He held my gaze and nodded. “One condition.”
“Look, McAl—”
He pressed his finger to my lips, silencing me. “We do it my way. It’s the only shot you have of getting out of there alive.”
I may be reckless at times, but I wasn’t an idiot. I liked living as much as the next girl. I nodded, but he didn’t remove his finger. Instead, he used the pad to slowly trace around my lips, robbing me of expertly applied pink gloss. My knees almost buckled when he put the same fingertip in his own mouth, sucking it.
“Tastes like peppermint,” he said in a low, rumbling voice.
If I’d let things continue last night, I’d have had that mouth all over me. Heat suffused my body as I stood transfixed, unable to look away. Not too full, not too thin. Those lips were just right. And they knew how to kiss.
“Understand me?” he asked.
My gaze slowly trailed up his face. As I stared into his amused eyes, my cheeks felt like they were on fire. He knew exactly what I was thinking. “What is your way, Sorcerer?”
“Tonight, we’re a couple. You’re going to keep that smart mouth shut and let me ask the questions. Oh, and one more thing.”
I raised a brow.
“You’re crazy about me.”
“If I were dating you, McAllister, I’d have to be crazy.”

November seems to have been a paranormal/ fantasy month for me and this was my favourite book so far! The first book in the 'Null for hire' series Dispelled introduces us to Holly James a magical 'Null' and Cade Mcallister a sorcerer.

Now what is a Null I hear you ask a Null is someone who strips magic from those around them temporarily if course.  For Holly being a Null had caused some problems in her life stripping magic from those around her doesn't win you any points in the magical world or with the magical users around you.

When a knock at the door brings Holly face to face with Cade McAllister and a family she didn't even know she had asks for help she can't say no. A magical Investigator the last thing Cade should do is involve himself with a Null her very presence strips him of his magic and wards his protection but there's something about Holly that calls to his inner man. This paranormal mystery gets top marks from me 5 stars! I was kept guessing to the very end at who the murderer would be and I loved the characters throughout the book.

It was so intense, my belly clenched with longing. My heartbeat was as loud as marbles falling down a metal staircase. Did every girl he meet get the same level of scrutiny? He looked more disappointed than injured—as if I had fallen lower in his estimation. Who cares what he thinks? I was sure Kyle was as arrogant as he was handsome. In my limited experience, men this good- looking were natural-born devious jerks. He was probably married with a girlfriend and a side chick. And women doubtless made a single file to him, happy to be spiced, tossed and ground up in the meat factory that is today’s dating scene. I was usually not so pejorative, but Kyle pushed all my cheesed-off buttons, without saying a word. He didn’t have to. It was not him, it was me. See, I was raised to hate men. Juniper Smoke had me hanging on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Luckily I read books I&II together otherwise there would have been heavy tears as I finished the first instalment wondering what would happen with Juniper and Kyle next, would they be a couple or not?. Unluckily for me there is a third instalment yet to come so I still have to cope with a cliffhanger but at least I know they have started their romance.

Juniper Mills, Junior Curator, top fundraiser, protective Daughter/sister these are just some of the roles Juniper answers to but when she meets Kyle Paxton he wants her to take on another role his 'summer'. Tech genius Kyle has a policy in life no relationships, it wasn't always that way; ever since his 1st girlfriend committed suicide he's been closed off, his partners come in seasons 'Summer' and 'Winter' but Winter is still in full force when he spots his next summer.

For me this book was 4 Stars, it was good but not quite cohesive in places it felt as if there were 2 authors writing as 1. Maybe this was the authors demonstration of the conflicting feelings Juniper felt following Kyles proposition but there were other niggles for me, one moment the concern over her family coping without her causing her to speak to them everyday the next staying with Kyle longer. My issue with the extension Juniper making the decision to stay without speaking to them. It was this type of inconsistency that I struggled with. Overall I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next book and perhaps the final chapter?

4 witchy sisters falling In love and protecting the magical and non magical world from the danger of evil warlocks what's not to like. When I first began the Vieux Carré series I hadn't read any Dawn Chartier books previously so I wasn't sure what to expect from the authors writing. With books 1&2 there were a few niggles as I read, however by book 3 I had accustomed to the authors writing style and whilst I initially found books 1&2 Engaging and enjoyable by book 3 I was hooked. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, I love these sisters.

Initially I wondered how Rose's romantic tale would begin, she's the most socially conscious of the four supporting and volunteering at charities and seemingly wearing her heart on her sleeve. She cared about others almost to the detriment of herself, smoothing over the feathers her sisters and their natures ruffled. I wondered what sort of heroes would be written for her, would she fall for an existing character of have a whole new one thrust upon her?  Gruff and Abrasive Callahan is Rose's opposite in all ways except for one his love for family. Vengeance and saving the world from the monster that killed his brother is the only thing keeping him going, that is until the nicest witch in town moves in next door. But with their natures completely opposite Callahan and Rose need to learn to work together to help defeat the Warlocks coming for them and with their close proximity their relationship changes from loathe to lust to love s they battle personal demons along the way. This book is my favourite of the series so far 4.5 stars.

I quite enjoy a sci-fi romance and the hot alpha space lord has firm become my favourite type of hero.  Unfortunately I came to this series 6 books in, not the best idea with a complex story line of a book like Flying through Fire. It's hard to come into an established story line with full mythology without feeling lost, for me despite my enjoyment of Nina Crofts writing and the story in general I struggled with the majority of the plot confused and rereading paragraphs.

Left orphaned when her parents are captured and held prisoner by fanatics Candace 'Candy' Decker has struggled to make her own way in the world hiding and protecting her brother Angel from the sinister worlds around them. At age 15 she wanted Thorne, however Thorne older than her by several centuries and a friend of her parents spurned her advances, now it's their time but with the world and fate conspiring against them there romance is not an easy one.

If I had come to this series with the first book my review would have been higher 4 stars at the very least, This book shouldn't be read as a standalone and despite the engaging cast of characters drawing me into the storyline I still struggled with some of the previous events that had happened in the series. If you like space, time travel, immortality, vampires, mutants and werewolves and many more you need to read this series you will love the story and the characters created.

I stumbled across the Gun Moll series by accident and I never expected to enjoy a book so much. This second instalment blew my breath away just as good as the first book I couldn't put it down. Picking up Melina and Mac's story with Melina's release from prison this is all about Melina and Mac learning to be a couple in the Mafia world facing the dangers surrounding them head on.

I love the way Bethany Kris and Erin Ashley Tanners write, there styles merging so seamlessly that I would struggle to separate the two authors to determine who wrote which chapter. As the second book in the series this book ticked all the boxes for me, however this is a follow on book in the series and continues the story of Mac and Melina, it is not about others within their world (however I hope that at some point in the future there will be stories for the larger cast of characters.) there is no recap on previous chapters and I think you would struggle to read it as a stand alone you need to read Gun Moll and realise the power of the word 'Doll' uttered by an Alpha male sure of his power over a dominant female.

If you like Alpha males, and gun toting females not unprepared to protect what's there's this is the series for you 5stars.
