Florence has been stood up again! This dating game is not as easy as it seems or what its cracked up to be. That is until she meets a very handsome man in the same bar who also appears to have been stood up, could he really be interested in getting to know her?

I cant say anymore regarding the plot without giving huge spoilers but what I will say is wow Laura has done it again. I always look forward to a new offering from her and after last year’s Christmas novella I couldn't wait to get my hands on this years. It's a fast paced and hilarious read as with any of her books, I devoured this in just one sitting. Although the book is seasonal I feel that this could be read anytime of the year if you want a quick funny read but equally this has got me a little more excited for xmas, I definitely share Flo’s enthusiasm for the Christmas season.

I throughly recommend you pick this little stocking filler up and this deserves every sparkle of the 5 stars I've given it.

Yet another wonderful read from Mrs Barnard! Adventurous Proposal was a great christmas novella, which has really brought me into the festive spirit! She had me crying with laughter and wanting to roll on the floor at points; this is a typical trait of her books and one that I just crave for more. I really enjoyed this story and found the main character Flo absolutely hilarious; I felt myself being able to identify with her.

Will Flo ever meet a handsome man, fall in love and get married? Not by the luck she's been having! After being stood up on a date - yet again - Florence is approached by none other than Hugh. A stranger. With a question up his sleeve, Flo could be crazy enough to accept, or similarly crazy enough to deny. You will have to go and purchase this christmassy story to find out for yourself!

I didn't quite connect with Hugh as much as I would have liked to. I think he just pushed the boundaries a little too much for me, so that's where that little half a star has disappeared! But we don't all connect with the same characters, as I'm sure you can all understand! But that did not stop me from thoroughly loving this story and waiting for more from this totally awesome author!

Bliss Series

Wow there are not enough words to describe this hot read chronicling the lives of Mac, Daniel and their motley crew of friends including Mac's Ex's her friends with benefits. Having been initiated into the world of the Bliss/Game series' late on when I stumbled on to a copy of Game Player  (the first book in the game series which follows on from Bliss) I did wonder how the group dynamics had been formed. You had 4 men having slept with the same woman best friends and their partners 4 strong women the best of friends one of whom had slept with the others partners. I wondered how it had worked out and quickly put the Bliss series on to my TBR to read and I was not disappointed.

With flashbacks, and the stories told from joint POVs this book had it all, actually this series had it all. I loved Mac and Kate's relationship the best friends calling each other out and challenging the other to do things outside their comfort zone. In fact that is what happens when Mac meets dreamy Daniel on the L and Kate her best friend challenges her to wait 3 dates before giving him an all access pass a change for Mac who had a stable of Friends with benefits that had all access passes. I wondered what humorous comment would next come from the pair especially when Mac realised that Kate had eyes for none other than Zander a member of her 'FWB'. With Mac plotting and planning helping Zander in his quest to get with Kate.

My favourite couple of the Bliss series has to be Noah and Zoe when the pair meet it's just explosive but with an over protective brother like Zander knowing Noah's past tricks he has to pull out all the stops to storm the gate. My least favourite couple of the series was Sean and Sam I struggled to connect with police officer Sam and a Dom is not my favourite kind of Hero but as a whole this series was a 4.5 star read full of hot sex and humour, there are a few typos along the way that I wish had been picked up in editing but hopefully they will be updated soon.

Game Player

Game player is the story of two hot players meeting their match and falling in love with the other. With a cast of characters that follows on from the Bliss series Game Player was my first foray into the world of B J Harvey and introduced me to the Roberts Clan. I loved reading the book so much I had to read the other books in the series and they much like Game player do not disappoint.

Full of humour and hot moments as Matt and Mia thrust and parry, finding the balance between falling in lust only to realise that it's love. Be prepared for full on laughter for this rom com read. 5 smoking stars for Game Player.

Game Maker

It's the turn of the final Roberts Sister to find her love or claim her love in this case. The problem is when the man you love is the best friend of your overprotective big brother it's a challenge to be seen as something other than the bratty little sister that needs to be taken care of....... or is it? Having watched (or rather read) the other Roberts sisters face this particularly over protective brother I knew what Dani was heading for.

Fire fighter Zach has been battling against his feelings for Dani for years and when they finally fan the flames their relationship is scorching the only problem they are hiding it from their friends and family and sneaking around is just not his style. This was actually my least favourite of Ms Harvey's books I just struggled with Dani when she was given her own book prior to Game Maker I had loved her as a sub character but I just couldn't quite connect with her as a heroine.

The latest book in Bj Harvey's Game series Game Saver is another winner for me. Following the similar plot lines as Game Player and Game Maker this illicit romance is between Abi and Cade and follows their relationship from fake to real. With manipulative parents trying to use Cade for their own means he takes a step in controlling his own life by asking Abi to be his Fake fiancé.

A fake relationship with Real sex that's what Cade offers and Abi just can't resist. Little did the pairs realise that their fake relationship would lead to the real thing. With the telltale humour I have come to expect from a BJ Harvey book this book was a 5star read for me.

Single is a story about triumphing over adversity and true love conquering all, told in joint POV and narrated the same IT was a different experience for me. It's been a long time since I listened to an audio book, think back to the 80's early 90s where cassette was king and you have my last foray into that world. I wondered how the modern audio experience would compare the last audio book I listened to a children's story; well I still like a happily ever after at least.  Baseball player Luke Singleton had it all only to have it crash down around him with a rogue hit from a head hunting Pitcher. On the way to the majors only to have his dream die Luke resigns himself to taking care of his mother when his opportunity to play is returned but with his mother deteriorating how can he put his dreams first?

Roberta has become entrenched in the world of baseball and despite her best efforts to avoid ball players she has a type and they are it despite the hurt a certain player caused her in the past. When her latest assignment finishes in Newyork home carer Roberta makes the move to Stockton with ex boss Landry intending to start fresh in a new town. However Roberts's past and Luke's are more entwined than you realise and with her pitching in to help Luke with his mothers care the two become close. I liked the story hearing the pair fall in and overcome the adversities they faced. However for me the narration made it feel a little inner monologue which isn't my favourite style of book but overall the book was enjoyable.

I never expected for an audio book to be a longer listening/reading experience especially as with a modern day audio book you don't listen for the tinned posh voice saying 'end of side A please play B', In theory it's a non stop listening experience. Unfortunately theory did not come into fruition, where as with an e book you read privately setting your own pace, that is not the case with an audio book. You are a slave to the narrators skills both as an orator and a reader. Having said this with audible you do have the option to increase the speed however it then felt rushed. I don't think the audio book is for me I missed turning the pages and reading through the chapters and envisioning the story in my head I just didn't get that feeling listening to someone else telling the story. 4 stars for my first Audible read/listen.

“Thank you for making them leave,” she tells me, her eyes brimming with tears. “No one ever makes them back down; but you did, Buck. You made them run.”

“For you, I’d do anything.”

“You don’t even know me.”

I shrug, holding her in my arms. “Maybe not, but does it matter? You are a woman who needs a man to protect her. I’m here and willing. Let me be that for you.”

“Buck,” she says softly, her mouth parting. “Let me thank you for saving me.”

My hands run over her back, and then they cup her face, our gazes held on one another. “How do you want to thank me?”

A quick hot read Bucked: The Mountain Man's Babies was my first book by Frankie Love and I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. The plot on the run from her uncle Mafia princess Rosie finds love in the most unexpected place an Idaho cafe. With her uncle and his men hunting her Rosie has one chance to live life to its fullest and she decides Bucks the man to do it.

Finding and losing a woman in his mothers diner was never on Bucks list of life plans, to have her turn up 8months later heavily pregnant with his babies even more so. But with the Mafia after her and their babies Buck steps up to protecting his new family the only way a mountain man can. It seemed like a 'blink and you miss it' plot with this book the scenes moving swiftly from one to another. The kind you read when you have a spare 30minutes to an hour and just want a little escape into the fantasy. Although enjoyable the emphasis was on the hotter scenes with little plot expansion something I need even in my hot reads. A Little more story needed to go with the steamy but an excellent start 3 stars.
