As a newly Made Capo in the Pivetti Crime Family, all eyes are on James “Mac” Maccari, and not for a particularly good reason. I stumbled across the Gun Moll series by accident and I never expected to enjoy a book so much. This second instalment blew my breath away just as good as the first book I couldn't put it down. Picking up Melina and Mac's story with Melina's release from prison this is all about Melina and Mac learning to be a couple in the Mafia world facing the dangers surrounding them head on.
I love the way Bethany Kris and Erin Ashley Tanners write, there styles merging so seamlessly that I would struggle to separate the two authors to determine who wrote which chapter. As the second book in the series this book ticked all the boxes for me, however this is a follow on book in the series and continues the story of Mac and Melina, it is not about others within their world (however I hope that at some point in the future there will be stories for the larger cast of characters.) there is no recap on previous chapters and I think you would struggle to read it as a stand alone you need to read Gun Moll and realise the power of the word 'Doll' uttered by an Alpha male sure of his power over a dominant female.
If you like Alpha males, and gun toting females not unprepared to protect what's there's this is the series for you 5stars.
