6 months ago I had never heard of R.C. Boldt since then she has fast become one of my favourite authors to read. Even though she only has 1 series out at the moment she has been quite prolific in her writing. Out of Love is the 5th book in her 'Teach Me' series and tells the story of Foster 'Fos' Kavanaugh a staple character in the Teach me series and I have to admit a favourite of mine from the start.
Ex seal Fos is the caretaker for everyone in the group helping his military friends adjust to a semi civilian life outside of their navy or airforce careers. But Fos has his own burdens to bear from his experiences in the seals and has decided he's done too many things that scarred his soul whilst serving his country that he doesn't deserve to be happy. In his eyes he especially doesn't deserve to fall in love, that's why he's fighting the attraction he's felt for a year to his office manager Noelle. On the run having fled an abusive relationship Noelle isn't ready to fall for another man let alone her boss. Yet when the past catches up with her she knows there's only 1 person she can trust and with the sparks flying high neither has the resolve to deny their heart any more.
Having read the books from the beginning I haven't had the awkward who's this or that character, however for me the writers style suits the multi book genre well with the stories being interconnected but you don't have to have read every book in the series to be able to enjoy the book you are reading. These books are an easy read for me, well written and engaging I can see Fos and Noelle in my head as they exchange banter back and forth. Fos sucking in his tummy insecure over Noelle's lust for his body make the characters seem more real. Overall 4.5 stars looking forward to the next book in the series.
