With a kickass heroine and a sexy rocker Jacobs Ladder - Gabe was a highly enjoyable read for me. The first book in the Jacobs Ladder series JL-Gabe is the story of the bands songwriter. Battling writers block Gabe heads off on a journey to find himself and recharge his writing batteries. When inspiration comes in the form of the tow truck driver Rae he knows he needs to stay near afraid his muse will disappear. However his less than stellar first introduction to Rae means his muse won’t speak to him, doesn’t want to see him let alone be in the same room as him.
Single mom Reagan ‘Rae’ Hart has had enough of musicians, they are selfish always putting themselves first and when her sexy tow proposition’s her after just a 3 minute conversation she knows she’s made the right choice. When the next day he asks her to be his muse it’s not just a no but a hell NO! if only the rest of her family got that memo. With her son conspiring against her to bring the pair into contact and her own attraction to the sexy Rocker can she see past his musical ways?
Told in joint POV I enjoyed reading JL-Gabe, I liked the sexy rocker who wasn’t interested in kids, even those in his own family, falling in love with the single mom. I loved the fact that although it was Insta lust for both the hero and heroine that they didn’t automatically fall into each other’s arms, that Gabe had to prove he was more than an arrogant rocker who wanted to bed every woman in sight move past the animosity he had created with his initial introduction to Rae.
