The minds of authors Stephie Walls and Leddy Harper have joined forces to become one super author ‘Stella’. Thier first book under the guise of Stella was a fabulous read telling the story of an unlikely baseball star Coby and his best friend Ellie as they both realised that they are meant to be together as more than besties. This book was an unusual read for me from the start I was rooting for Elllie and Coby to be something more, but with both pursuing romance outside of each other and Ellie being somewhat successful I didn’t know what to think. I’m not a fan of a ‘cheater’ story line and at one point I honestly thought that this was where Stella was taking me, but I shouldn’t have feared unfounded jealousy of thier friendship quickly put paid to those relationships.

So to the story itself, beginning with the pair in high school, with Coby was a late blooming Base ball star who on graduation was signed up to the Major league. For Coby this was a dream come true, his pitching a thing of legend even more so because he couldn’t hit a baseball he never expected to go to the major league he planned to go to college with his best friend Ellie graduate together etc etc. This book is about a friendship that becomes something more despite being interested in other boys/girls Coby and Ellie gravitate towards each other in every way supporting each other throughout being boyfriend/girlfriend without the sexual element and not realising they were more than best friends.

I loved the character of Coby the hard working putting his best friend first attitude he had, the way he made decisions and his attitude when he realised that Ellie was the one for him had me rooting for him and Ellie to realise and make it work from the start.  Ellie was a strange one for me I liked her but the obliviousness to how she really felt about Coby had me screaming and wanting to shake her saying don’t go out with him it’s Coby you should be with.  This book for me was a 4.5 star read full of angst/drama with characters that I loved and an enjoyable plot line.

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of
boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her
characters.
She is now a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a house full of females.
The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it
is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it
means to overcome their fears.

Stephie Walls is a literary whore - she loves words in all forms and will read anything put in front of her.
She has an affinity for British Literature and Romance novels and an overall love of writing. She currently
