Well, what can I say?! We take off right from where we left Violent Things and begin to see more of Mason Reeves. Detective Lowell is back in town and threatens Mason with child services if he doesn't keep up his end of the bargain. When Mason's sister Millie is rushed into hospital, Mason doesn't realise who he is dealing with...Dr Romera. We follow their story for the rest of the book, with various heart wrenching up and down moments. Until the unthinkable happens, Mason and Sloane's lives are turned upside down forever...

I think I'll stop there before I give too much away! I really enjoyed this book and think it really sets the scene for the following books in the series. I felt that the pace was a little slow in the middle, but it more than made up for it in the final few chapters! I am very eager to see how Mason's relationship develops and hope that this is explored more in the next instalment.

This was a 5 star read for me and I will definitely be one-clicking the rest of this series. I need more!
